Year of the Rabbit

To all my chinese friends, wishing you Gong Xi Fa Chai. If you were born in the year of the rabbit, you should be smart,articulate,talented, virtous and people may find you attractive, well, in what ever way…..so they say. How I wish I could be such.

In Malay mythology the rabbit is overly confident and arrogant. And at times suffers from superiority complex to the extent of looking down on his peers. As one Malay folkslore related how a running race between a rabbit and a tortoise ended in the tortoise as the winner. It was supposed to be no match at all. Upon starting ,the rabbit dashed passed the tortoise in a race that could see the latter beaten to ashes. But as arrogance swarmed, the rabbit upon seing the finishing line feets away, while the tortoise snailing hours away behind, decided to take a rest and subsequently dozed off.

However the tortoise realising his handicap, treaded on, persevered with consistent pace and never thought to win but determined to cross the finishing line. And as you may guessed the rabbit had overslept only to wake up to find the tortoise had already crossed the finishing line and won the race.

Though, it is just a folkslore and fun to read to the kids and seldom taken seriously, there are some moral bearings to reflect. How overconfidence and arrogance may oneday smacked one on the face. History had it how, earlier in the last century, as a result of over reliance and trust on the size and might had sunk and turned the Titanic into watery grave in the Atlantic ocean. There is no perfection in life more so guarantees for the future. Therefore my advice is not to be too confident in making judgements or decisions as an unexpected turn of events may spell disaster. Move on with care and deligence. While confidence helps, overconfidence sometimes kills.

December 2010, I remember I only had 2 saturdays for my holidays or rest days. I spent them in KL after LJT meeting.That was what my wira ukur secretary azira, showed me from the appointment diary. My umno diarykeeper yusnisamira, showed my scheduled as packed to the edge. On some previous months, the 2 datekeepers sometimes differ in their entries. But this time around, December dates from both entries were exact and fitting. Looking back, how I survived the month I dont know. I lost track of what I did. So my piece of advice to everyone, do not do things like what I did. Spare some days for your cell to reproduce. Rest at some hideouts. Napping on the barber’s chair while the sharp blade scrap your chin is no good. Get real good rest or if there is one around your place, go do footmassage. From my friends words..it can sooth and destress. I can only suggest. I dont think I can do that myself as there is none in Pasir Mas.

Yesterday my blackmerry community friends blasted in the chatroom discussion ‘what is your AZAM BARU for 2011. My response was for 2011 azam, DONT SAVE MONEY. SAVE YOUR TIME. That speaks from the bottom of my heart. 2011 should be a better year. RMK 10 starts in January and the economic outlook promises hope. I am an optimist and I am a believer of positivism. Therefore I want be happy and should be happy. I hope you too. Selamat Menyambut Tahun Baru 2011. Semoga Allah memberkati perjalanan hiup kita.

I have not been writing for quite a while since ramadan. ramadan was quite a hectic month when i almost spend three quarters of it doing berbuka puasa at cawangans and suraus. The majlis berbuka for the bahagian was done at my house attended by almost a thousand people. And alhamdullillah i have done my obligatory zakat and zakat fitrah a week ago. And i have also attended quite a bit of makan coleks program organised by a few cawangans. but mind u i have to control the temptation of colek buah buahan as my stomach has become very fruit hostile this whole week. squeezing and bubbling.

Alhamdullilah tommorow we will be celebrating the Eids with family at home and plan to visit kubur lemal and kubur padang tokla where my in laws and parents were put to rest at around 11am insyallah. alfatihah to them may allah placed their souls amongst the believers. amin

Perjumpaan dengan aktivis dan pejuang DUN Pengkalan Pasir bersama penyelaras Aziz Mohamad.

Transformasi bermula dari minda dan fikiran. Pejuang mesti melihat kedepan dengan positif dan toleh kebelakang hanya untuk mengambil iktibar. Panduan dan isyarat mesti difahami. Menyokong dan mengangkat imej pimpinan adalah sebenarnya mengangkat kekuatan parti. Maka transformasi pemikiran adalah permulaan kepada transformasi lain. kemudian perkasakan pemimpin melalui penjernihan imej dengan sebaran meluas. Dengan itu transformasi dalam hal selainnya akan menjadi lebih berjaya.
